Why This Blog?

They say you live once, but die twice. The second death is the moment when the people who remember you have died as well. And then you end up as vintage portraits on flea markets. Men and women from an era long ago, each with a story and a name that no one knows.

Rather than keeping old family photos in a box, until one day no one remembers who they are and what they did, and throw them out, I want the old photographs in my family to continue living, to tell their story for generations to come, to be remembered who they/we were.
Our family records go back many generations, but I ‘portray’ only 5 generations, since photography does not record beyond that 5th generation, at least in our family. Of the many ancestors I have, 62 in total in 5 generations, I have a ‘face’ - a picture - of 28 of them. A few of them I found through the internet.

The code G stand for generation, the digit for the number of generations back, and the F or M indicate if it is my paternal (father’s - F) or my maternal (mother’s - M) side.

It may be that you do have pictures, and I would love to add them to the collection, so please share.
